EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

DEFINITION OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE:

From the Latin intelligentĭa, the notion of intelligence is linked to the ability to choose the best options in the search for a solution. It is possible to distinguish between various types of intelligence, depending on the skills that come into play. In any case, intelligence appears related to the ability to understand and develop information to use it properly.

Emotional intelligence
Emotional, on the other hand, is that pertaining to or related to emotion (a psycho-physiological phenomenon that implies an adaptation to the registered changes in environmental demands). The emotional is also the emotional (sensitive to emotions).

The concept of emotional intelligence was popularized by the American psychologist Daniel Goleman and refers to the ability to recognize one's own and others' feelings. The person, therefore, is intelligent (skilled) for managing feelings.

For Goleman, emotional intelligence implies five basic abilities: discovering one's emotions and feelings, recognizing them, managing them, creating their own motivation and managing personal relationships.
Emotional intelligence has a physical basis in the brainstem, responsible for regulating basic vital functions. The human being has an emotional center known as a neocortex, whose development is even earlier than what we know as a rational brain.

The cerebral tonsil and the hippocampus are also vital in all processes linked to emotional intelligence. The tonsil, for example, secretes norepinephrine that stimulates the senses.

It is important to make clear that the person who has significant levels of emotional intelligence is an individual who thanks to it achieves the following objectives in their relationship with others:
• That those around him feel comfortable with him.
• That by being at your side do not experience any negative sensation.
• That they trust him when they need some personal and professional advice.

But not only that. Someone who has emotional intelligence is the one who:
• Is able to recognize and manage everything that negative emotions can be.
• He has a greater capacity for relationship with others, because he has the advantage that he manages to understand them by putting himself in their positions.
• He manages to use criticism as something positive, since he analyzes and learns from them.
• It is someone who precisely because of having that emotional intelligence and knowing how to properly channel negative emotions, has a greater capacity to be happy.
• It has the necessary qualities to face adversities and setbacks, so as not to fall apart.

Because of the important benefits and advantages of any person who has emotional intelligence, there are many studies that have been carried out so far. Some of them come to make clear that among the identity signs that most identify those who own it, are the following:
• They flee from the monotony, try at all times to look for alternatives to have a fuller and happier life.
• They are firm when required.
• They always look forward to continue living.
• They love to be learning continuously.

Unlike what happens with the intellectual quotient there is no study that allows measuring the capacity or degree of personal intelligence of a subject. In this sense, the appreciation of this ability is rather subjective.
